Baker McKenzie advised BNP Paribas, BPCE, Crédit Agricole, Crédit Mutuel and Société Générale on the creation of the b.connect joint venture.
The purpose of the joint venture is to develop and market a simple, secure and universal password-free digital identification and authentication solution. It will enable any retailer or provider of web or mobile services to delegate the authentication of its users to the b.connect solution. b.connect will thus facilitate the creation of new customer accounts, streamline and secure access to customer accounts (login), and greatly reduce identity theft fraud.
Baker McKenzie advised the five participating banks on implementing this partnership, with a team led by Stéphane Davin (partner) and consisting mainly of Antoine Caillard (senior counsel) and Sarah Belahcen (senior associate) on transactional and corporate law aspects, and Olivia Chriqui-Guiot (counsel) and Céline Mouraud (associate) on competition law aspects.
