Alexander Stathopoulos

Alexander’s practice focuses primarily on international securities offerings across Southeast Asia. He regularly advises issuers, selling shareholders and investment banks on the full spectrum of ECM including IPOs, rights issues and other primary and secondary follow-on offerings, and has successfully executed a large number of listings and other transactions across Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines. He also regularly advises on corporate and sovereign debt offerings and liability management transactions, and other aspects of US federal securities laws impacting foreign private issues.

Selected experience prior to joining Baker McKenzie:

• Advised the principal advisers and other underwriters on the IPOs and listings on Bursa Malaysia of CTOS, Farm Fresh and DXN.

• Advised the underwriters on nearly all of the numerous IPOs in Thailand in the past decade, including Thai Credit Bank, i-Tail Corporation, Thai Life Insurance, Kerry Express, Ngern Tid Lor, SCG Packaging, Central Retail Corporation, Bangkok Asset Management, H Hotels and Resorts, TOA Paint, TLI Polene Power and Banpu Power.

• Advised on nearly all of the international IPOs by Vietnamese issuers, including VietJet, Vincom Retail, Vinhomes and Techcom Bank.

• Advised on some of the largest and most recent listings by Philippines and Indonesian issuers, including MR. DIY Indonesia, Pertamina Geothermal Energy, Monde Nissin and Emperador Inc.’s secondary listing on the Singapore Exchange.
