Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, the Singapore member firm of Baker McKenzie, today announces that leading capital markets lawyer Alexander Stathopoulos has joined the Firm as a Principal based in Singapore.

Alexander is US-qualified and joins the Firm from A&O Shearman, bringing over 20 years of experience in international capital markets, with a focus on cross-border equity capital markets (ECM) offerings in Southeast Asia. He regularly advises issuers, underwriters, selling shareholders and investment banks on large and complex listings, and his transactional experience includes nearly all of the international IPOs in Thailand and Vietnam over the last decade, as well as many of the largest and most recent IPOs in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Alexander is ranked as a Leading Partner in Legal500 2025 in the “Capital Markets: equity and debt: foreign firms” category for Singapore and “Foreign firms” category in the Philippines.

Beyond his ECM expertise, Alexander also regularly advises on corporate and sovereign debt offerings and liability management transactions, and other aspects of US federal securities laws impacting foreign private issuers.
