
Daryl Seetoh
Biography
Daryl Seetoh is a local principal in the Intellectual Property & Technology (IPTech) Practice Group at Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow. He is a qualified lawyer in Singapore, and is a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Certified Information Privacy Professional for Asia (CIPP/Asia), an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional for Europe (CIPP/E).
Daryl has been recognised by Chambers Asia Pacific, Singapore as an "Associate to Watch" for Technology, Media, Telecoms (TMT): International work in 2025. Clients commended that "Daryl is an excellent attorney," and he is "very knowledgeable about data privacy laws throughout the Asia Pacific region, and is able to provide very good, consolidated advice."

- Advised a technology conglomerate on environmental, energy and general regulatory licences and approvals required in respect of its state of the art data centre and solar photovoltaic systems.
- Advised the Association of Banks in Singapore in the legal workstream to set up the real-time mobile payments connections between Thailand and Singapore (PayNow-PromptPay).
- Advised an internet technology company on data protection issues relating to virtual and augmented reality related products and an immersive metaverse concept virtual worlds platform.
- Advised a global technology company on proof of concept and regulatory compliance for its leading service offerings, including in relation to AI training processes, ranking and recommender algorithm systems, and proactive human and machine moderation.
- Advised a multinational conglomerate in relation to the launch of the first electric vehicle manufactured in Singapore, and related connected car services.
- Advised a multinational cybersecurity software company on its cybersecurity service provider licensing application and its EU Transfer Impact Assessment for Singapore in light of Schrems II.
- Advised a world-leading technology company on sanctions relating to the provision of cloud and AI to customers in high-risk jurisdictions such as Russia, and guidance on anti-bribery, anti-money laundering and export control red flags.
- Advised a leading multinational on the regulatory issues arising from the financing of a new Combined Cycle Power Plant which is Singapore's first hydrogen-ready power plant.
- Advised a German multinational software corporation on telecommunications regulatory compliance assessments of their latest cloud service offerings.
- Advised a luxury sports car manufacturer in respect of their proprietary connectivity and communication systems from a Singapore telecommunication, e-commerce, data privacy, consumer protection, contractual, commercial, customs, trade and regulatory law perspective.
- Advised an insurance group in handling a data breach, the unauthorised use of personal data for direct marketing purposes, and remedial efforts.
- Advising a robotics software company with preparing its commercial agreements and with legal and compliance issues relating to its sales via e-commerce websites.
