Biography

Yuliana embarked on her legal career in 2006 as a law clerk while pursuing her law degree. Her academic achievements were recognized with scholarships from Boston University and Colfuturo, a Colombian non-profit organization, which supported her advanced studies and law masters.

She has a wealth of experience in handling intellectual property cases for numerous multinational corporations. Her expertise spans trademark and copyright issues, with a current focus on artificial intelligence and digital media. In 2013, she served on a secondment to a client’s intellectual property council in Illinois, USA, and in 2017, she worked from Baker McKenzie Zurich, interacting with key clients based in Switzerland.

Yuliana is also committed to giving back to the community through her pro bono work with Fundación Pro Bono Colombia, providing legal assistance to those unable to afford legal services. She is licensed to practice law in Colombia.

In 2024, her exceptional contributions to the field were recognized when she was named a Next Generation Partner in the Legal 500 and received a Silver classification in Colombia by the World Trademark Review.

Beyond her legal practice, Yuliana leads the “Semillero de Inteligencia Artificial y Propiedad Intelectual” research group at Universidad de los Andes. She regularly shares her insights on these topics through articles and talks for various newspapers, magazines, and radio stations.
