Angelica Navarro Acevedo
Biography
Angelica Navarro is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Bogota office. She served as an advisor to the Superintendent of Industry and Commerce on antitrust and merger control. Prior to that, she was an adviser to the director of the National Protection Unit, where she was in charge of the formulation and execution on protection and human rights programs. Previously, she worked as an associate at a legal services firm and an in-house attorney from the Mexichem Colombia company.
She was selected by Global Competition Review, along with clients and colleagues to be included in the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 Who's Who Legal: Competition – Future Leaders publication as one of the most outstanding lawyers in the right of free competition under 45 years of age. Angélica was also recognized by Legal 500 in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and in 2023 as a "Next Generation lawyer" in competition law.
In 2024, her exceptional contributions to the field were recognized when she was named a Next Generation Partener by Legal 500 and as an Associate to Watch by Chamber Latin America.

Angelica has developed her professional experience in the private and public sector on issues related to competition law, compliance, consumer protection and, data privacy.
Angelica advised the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce and participated in significant decisions concerning cartels and merger control in several merger transactions to international companies, as well as consumer protection and data privacy advice to local and international companies.

Advised AkzoNobel on the acquisition of several business lines from Grupo Orbis, including the ones related to coatings and polymers, with presence in a number of countries in the Latin American and Caribbean regions.

Advised Sika, global chemicals company with HQ in Switzerland, on the acquisition of 100% of the shares of LSF11 Skycraper HoldCo S.a.r.l (MBCC Group).

Advised Schlumberger international technology company that partners with customers to access energy, on the administrative investigation initiated by the Colombian competition authority for alleged acts that infringe Colombian antitrust laws.

Advised clients on consumer protection claims, recall procedures and investigations. Also advised clients on consumer protection matters related to advertising, consumer information, web pages, e-commerce, commercial transactions, terms and conditions, compliance with consumer protection laws, training in consumer protection matters, regulatory obligations arising from Consumer Protection and e-commerce.
