Biography

Tamara is a senior associate in the Data Protection and Cyber team. She supports clients across various data-rich sectors on a range of data protection and privacy advisory, compliance and regulatory matters. Tamara is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (Europe) (CIPP/E) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).Tamara has expertise in legal design, including winning the 2021 World CC EMEA Personal Initiative Award for her work implementing legal design in privacy. Legal design applies established design-thinking techniques to co-create people-centred solutions to legal issues, including communicating legal information in more engaging and accessible ways. She was recognised on the 2024 Pro Bono Recognition List of England and Wales.

Tamara provides strategic, pragmatic advice on all aspects of data protection, privacy, and direct marketing.

Tamara regularly advises businesses on data protection compliance in complex, cutting-edge projects. She also advises on cross-border data transfers, data protection risk assessments, data protection in contracting, accessible privacy policies and other transparency information, and day-to-day compliance. She has led a number of data protection compliance remediation projects, including working closely with legal and business teams through audit, gap analysis, remediation and implementation stages.

Tamara has advised on several regulatory data protection investigations. She can guide you through collaborating with regulators proactively or in support of investigations into third parties, and on engaging with data protection regulators in the context of an investigation or threatened enforcement action.

She has experience advising multinational clients across online platforms, online media, music, e-commerce, financial services, technology, education and other sectors.

  • Advising an online music streaming platform on complying with transparency requirements and cookie compliance.

  • Advising a consumer-facing company on an investigation into unlawful employee data access and sharing, including working with the ICO.

  • Advising on an ICO investigation into the use of facial recognition technology in large public-private spaces.

  • Advising a multinational bank on its global GDPR compliance project, including auditing, reporting, remediation and implementation.
