Our London office provides our clients with solutions to complex and often cross-border situations through a network of lawyers and offices that are locally embedded and globally integrated. We advise on some of the most significant and largest cross-border transactions, complex disputes and investigations, and international advisory matters in the UK and global markets. We work with our colleagues across more than 70 global offices to serve clients and meet their evolving needs, providing tailored advice underpinned by deep practice and sector expertise and enhanced by first-rate market knowledge.
With more than 500 lawyers, our London office is the largest in our Firm and a major city practice in its own right, providing domestic and cross-border legal advice in Banking & Finance, M&A, Tax, Competition, Dispute Resolution, Employment, Technology and Intellectual Property to a number of leading multinational corporations and financial institutions on complex matters.

Local expertise, global approach
As one of the world’s most active transactional firms, we help clients structure and execute a full spectrum of M&A transactions. We advise on all aspects of Banking & Finance, from origination through closing, and collaborate with many of the 750 Dispute Resolution lawyers across our global Firm to help clients resolve complex matters.
Our Tax team works with colleagues in other regions to find tax efficient structures for large cross-border transactions and investments, as well as advising clients on the UK tax aspects of international projects. We also offer global and local advice in the following areas:

Pro Bono & Community Service
We are signatories to the LawWorks pro bono protocol, provide legal advice to the World Land Trust, and have worked with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in the Supreme Court case of HJ (Iran) & HT (Cameroon), a ruling that determined gay, lesbian and bisexual asylum-seekers cannot be returned to countries where they would face persecution.
We also collaborated with the Public International Law and Policy Group for Tanzania on an analysis of the UN Convention Against Torture and other international instruments governing terrorism and prohibitions on torture.
Sustainability
We have a Sustainability Committee dedicated to reduce our impact on the environment and assess new initiatives. The committee focuses its efforts on three activities:
- Encouraging the use of our Cycle to Work scheme and pre-paid Oyster Cards for travelling to and from external meetings
- Participating in the Legal Sector Alliance, a group of law firms committed to reducing their carbon footprints
- Introducing a scheme to send all of our food waste to an anaerobic digestion plant to reduce our carbon footprint
