Biography

Matt is a partner in our London tax team, advising on all aspects of UK corporate taxation, with a particular focus on investment structuring and cross-border transactions.

He advises a broad client base, including private equity and sovereign wealth funds, family offices and multinationals.

Matt has a comprehensive range of high-value transactional experience, particularly cross-border M&A, real estate investment, group reorganisations, refinancings and fund raisings.

He is also a member of the Firm’s global Alternative Capital team that provides best-in-class investment solutions for family offices, founders, sovereign wealth, and other sources of private capital.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advising Novator on its $2 billion fund restructuring project, $1 billion bond raisings and $1 billion telecoms business venture.

  • Advising Blue Horizon Investors on their $500 million Miami hotel acquisition and luxury hotel development project.

  • Advising ATP Media on the structuring and establishment of its new data licencing business.

  • Advising Hitachi on the acquisition of its $11 billion multi-jurisdictional power grids business from ABB.

  • Advising Pontegadea on its $600 million acquisition of the Post building in London.

  • Advising Equinix on its $1 billion EMEA hyperscale joint venture with GIC.

  • Advising Mapletree in relation to its £560 million acquisition of a UK commercial business park.
