Juan Grangel
Biography
Juan Grangel is Of Counsel at Baker McKenzie's Madrid Office since 2023 and he is a Labor and Social Security Inspector currently on leave of absence.
He has extensive experience in compliance and labor fraud, given that he worked many years for the Spanish Administration was, having held the positions of Head of the Health and Safety Unit in the Territorial Directorate for Labor and Social Security Inspections in the La Rioja region, Team Leader in the General Sub-directorate for the Inspection of Social Security, Irregular Economy and Immigration Matters, as well as in the Territorial Directorate for Labor and Social Security Inspections in the Madrid region.
From 2018 to 2020 he held the position of Director of the National Anti-Fraud Office, forming part of the European Labor Authority's the Board of Directors, and represented Spain in the European Platform on Undeclared Work.
Practice Focus
Juan Grangel provides comprehensive advice on labor relations, including both the prevention of occupational hazards, as well as any issue related to Social Security.
In addition to his extensive experience in matters of compliance and labor fraud, he also represents companies; not only by attending national and international administrative inspections, but also by helping clients design and implement organizational models and/or business strategies.
He has notable experience in the management of collective labor disputes.
