Biography

Daniel Dehghanian has joined Baker McKenzie's global M&A practice as a partner in Dusseldorf in June 2024. He has been advising clients on international M&A transactions and other strategic challenges for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining the firm, Daniel was a partner at another leading international law firm.

The JUVE Handbook (2021/2022 edition) has quoted a client as saying that Daniel provides "outstanding service" and furthermore that he is "very much focused on the client's needs".

Practice Focus

Daniel has a strong track record of assisting multinational companies with their M&A transactions, reorganizations and other ventures both domestically and abroad, with a certain focus on the life sciences and technology space. His resume also includes numerous real estate transactions, including single asset deals, portfolio deals, forward deals and joint ventures across multiple asset classes. Daniel is also active in the venture capital space, helping founders, family offices, investors, corporates to develop and grow emerging companies.

Daniel is admitted to practice in Germany, but helps his clients in the execution of projects all over the world. Clients and team members appreciate his pragmatism and ability to break down complex issues to the essential points.

  • Advised AXA IM Alts on the sale of its majority stake in the "TechnoCampus" office complex in Berlin to Caleus*
  • Advised IBM on the global separation and reorganization of Kyndryl Holdings, Inc., its managed infrastructure services business, prior to the spin-off of Kyndryl into a separate publicly traded company*
  • Advised Westmont Hospitality Group on the assumption of the operator role of German hotel properties (Tidal Portfolio) and the establishment of a joint venture with the property owner Invesco Real Estate*
  • Advised ESTEVE on its acquisition of Riemser, a German pharmaceutical company, from Ardian*
  • Advised Art-Invest on its acquisition of GHOTEL Group, the operator of the "GHOTEL hotel & living" hotels, from AURELIUS*
  • Advised Alibaba on its Series B minority investment in and subsequent acquisition of Data Artisans*
  • Advised Honeywell on its acquisition of Transnorm, an warehouse automation solutions provider, from IK Investment Partners*
