Mónica Cubillos Iregui

Mónica has notable experience in Banking & Finance Law. Her practice involves international and local financing, project and corporate financing, leveraged acquisitions and public credit. Her experience includes drafting and negotiating agreements under financing transactions, analysis of financing structures, preparation of legal memoranda.

Mónica has advised both local and foreign financial institutions.

• Participated as local counsel of the lenders in the financing to KKR, for the acquisition of a 60% controlling stake in Telefónica Colombia’s existing fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network.
• Participated as local counsel of a well-known Colombian oil and gas extraction company in the largest finance transaction granted to a Colombian borrower
• Participated as local counsel of the lenders in one of the first international finance transactions related to Colombia in which the interest rate was linked to the CO₂ emission rates and the increase in the percentage of women in leadership positions.
• Acted as local counsel for Davivienda S.A. in the refinancing for a value of USD906M of the 4G infrastructure project Pasto - Rumichaca;
• Advised an important concessionaire of air terminals in Colombia, in the refinancing of its debt and the financing of the modernization, operation, maintenance and administration of six Colombian airports.
• As in-house lawyer of Itaú Corpbanca Colombia S.A. participated in the financing of the acquisition by GeoPark of the entire issued share capital of Amerisur.
