Pro bono in the Innocence Project

Legal representation to wrongfully convicted individuals in Mexico. The project's mission is to bring justice to those who cannot afford legal defense, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights protected. Elvia's work involved carefully reviewing trial records, analyzing evidence, and uncovering procedural violations that compromised due process and fundamental rights. As part of this work, Elvia was involved in a high-profile case documented in the Netflix series Duda Razonable, working closely with the defense team, advising on trial preparation, conducting legal research, and helping to craft a strategy that highlighted critical flaws in the case.
