Baker McKenzie has been recognized as the “Syndicated Corporate Loan Law Firm of the Year” at the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association’s (APLMA’s) Asia Pacific Syndicated Loan Market Awards held in Hong Kong.

The Firm is also proud to have worked on two financing deals that have won Deals of the Year at the Asia Pacific Syndicated Loan Market Awards. These recognitions attest to Baker McKenzie’s strengths in loans and credit facilities. 

The Firm acted on the USD 4.2 billion loan involving each of Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited and Intouch Holdings Public Company Limited and a syndicate of eight foreign lenders, which has been recognized as “Corporate-backed Acquisition Finance Deal of the Year.” Partners Viroj Piyawattanametha, Chavapol Akkaravoranun, Tatcha Thumpramoth and Principal Andrew Zaw led the team, with the assistance of associates Ekarin Tengchiew, Prachaya Apibansri,  Roypim Ransigutta, Panutchaya Ditsayatrai, Rawee Prasertpracha.

Baker McKenzie worked on the Syngenta Group (HK) Holdings Co. Ltd USD 4.5 billion SLL loan facility, which was awarded “Syndicated Green/Sustainable/Renewal Deal of the Year.” Partner Sally Hung led the team, with support from senior associate Karine Chan.

The Asia Pacific Syndicated Loan Market Awards recognize outstanding achievements in a total of 32 categories and are voted for by the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association’s (APLMA’s) membership.
