Baker McKenzie is pleased to welcome 30 mentees from law schools nationwide to its 2024 National Black Law Student Association (NBLSA) Tax Mentor Program, which runs from January to June 2024. This is the largest mentee cohort the Firm has hosted since launching the program in 2019.
The program is designed to educate interested NBLSA members about a career in tax law and to simultaneously dispel the idea that one must have a background or particular interest in tax, math or accounting to have a successful career in tax law. It is facilitated by the Firm's North America Tax Practice Group, as well as the Recruitment and Inclusion, Diversity & Equity teams.
Throughout the program, mentees participate in mentor meetings and monthly group sessions, expand their networks, gain practical skills and receive career guidance.
