Biography

Edward D. Totino is a partner in the North America Securities Litigation Group of Baker McKenzie's Los Angeles office.

Practice Focus

Ed's practice focuses on class actions, complex commercial litigation and securities litigation. He represents a broad spectrum of clients including financial institutions, fintech companies, manufacturers, retailers, and hospitality businesses. In recent years, Ed has defended class actions brought under the federal securities laws, the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, and the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Represented defendants in class actions alleging violations of California telephone recording laws.
Represented defendants in class and individual actions alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
Represented the former CEO of a technology company to recover damages caused by the company preventing him from selling shares.
Defended an investment bank from claims of violation of the Securities Act.
Defended companies in litigation arising from mergers.
Represented an electronics manufacturer in a class action alleging misrepresentations about the company’s products.
Defended fintech companies in class and individual actions.
Represented a biotech company in a contract dispute.
Represented several companies in connection with lease disputes arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
