Paula Talavera
Biography
Paula Talavera is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Employment and Compensation team in Madrid. She has been recognized by clients as a stand-out lawyer in Acritas Stars and recognised for her experience in the TMT sector. As part of her career, Paula completed an ATP at Baker McKenzie's Chicago office and has worked in-house for Amazon and NH Hotel Group through client secondments.
Paula regularly collaborates with specialized media and has co-authored leading reference books on employment matters and lectures at different universities and business schools in both HR and Law courses.
Practice Focus
Paula advises top tier multinational companies on a wide range of complex employment issues with a particular focus on company reorganizations, collective rights and union interaction, high value employment litigation, strategic cross border matters and the employment aspects of investigations.
Paula is well-versed in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) matters, with a proven track record of assisting clients in achieving pay transparency and fair job evaluations.
Paula is also an active member of the Firm's TMT Industry Group and a Reinvent Ambassador, where she collaborates with BakerML team to explore GenAI models' applicability to clients.

Represented an American multinational information technology company in the defense and settlement of litigation involving the termination of an Executive requesting +7mm compensation due to the termination of employment.

Represented a leading retail company in the defense and settlement of litigation involving allegations of individual and systemic discrimination in relation to gender.
