Biography

Mercedes Subhani is an IP Tech associate in Baker McKenzie’s Chicago office specializing in Data Privacy and Cybersecurity. Mercedes graduated from Maryland Carey Law on the Intellectual Property track and received a Certificate of Concentration in Cybersecurity & Crisis Management along with her J.D. She was also the recipient of the International Association of Privacy Professionals Westin Scholar Award.

During law school, Mercedes interned at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Google, Future of Privacy Forum, and at PepsiCo.

Mercedes was invited by The White House Office of the National Cyber Director to speak at its inaugural "Women in Cyber" global webinar.

Practice Focus

Mercedes leverages her experiences in the think tank, private, and government sectors to advise clients across an array of industries in data privacy and security, including the development and implementation of complex privacy compliance programs, risk assessments, and managing cyber security incidents. Mercedes also helps represent clients on intellectual property matters that arise within corporate transactions.
