Biography

Christoph Stutz is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Zurich office and serves as head of the Firm's Employment Law Practice Group in Switzerland. For more than 10 years, Christoph has been advising numerous companies in complex labor issues and has successfully represented clients in court. He also advises and represents pension funds and companies in pension-related matters. Christoph regularly publishes work in relation to all aspects of Swiss employment law and is a speaker at internal and external seminars. Christoph is admitted as attorney specialized in labor law (Certified Specialist SBA Labor Law) and is certified as a Social Security Specialist.

Christoph is listed as next generation lawyer in Employment in The Legal 500, 2024, where clients say that his proactive and responsive nature ensures effective problem-solving and a smooth workflow.

Practice Focus

Christoph provides strategic and comprehensive employment law advice to domestic and multinational clients in various sectors, particularly healthcare, MEM, financial, insurance, transport and logistics, and IT and technology industry. He focuses his practice on Swiss labor law, social security and pension matters, with an emphasis on corporate and other forms of restructurings such as business transfers, outsourcing projects and collective redundancies, executive compensation, pension and benefit schemes, data privacy, compliance investigations, contingent workforce solutions and management transfers.

  • Advised Idorsia on entering into significant global research and development collaboration agreements.
  • Advised Kanadevia Inova (formerly Hitachi Zosen Inova) on and prepared global cash-based short-term and long-term incentive plans and assisted in the multijurisdictional implementation of both plans, including local adaptions.
  • Advised Sumitomo Rubber Industries on its share transfer of subsidiary Lonstoff.
  • Advised PSP Swiss Property on the acquisitions of the prime office property "Westpark," located in Zurich-West, for CHF 216.5 million.
  • Advised Argos Wityu on the acquisition of Norline AG.
  • Advised CTS Corporation on the acquisition of maglab AG.
  • Advised Avrios International AG on its sale to Battery Ventures.
  • Advised Transcom on its acquisition of luxury fashion, e-commerce and retail CX specialist Forcontact.
  • Advised an international logistics group on all employment, HR and pension matters.
  • Advised a global healthcare company on the integration of an acquired company and its employees, separation of member of the management and collective redundancy.
  • Advised an international European airline on all HR matters.
  • Advised a large domestic retail company on all employment, HR and pension matters.
  • Advised a medium global healthcare company on all employment matters and represented it successfully in litigation following the separation of member of the management.
