Biography

Lennart Reich is a member of the tech practice in Baker McKenzie's Munich office. He joined the Firm in 2021. Lennart studied law at Augsburg University and the University of Bergen (Norway). Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Lennart completed his legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich, including stages at an international law firm in Munich and a German car manufacturer.

Practice Focus

Lennart focuses on information technology, e- and m-commerce, digital and data protection law. He advises German and international clients on legal questions relating to the regulation of digital and data-related business models, artificial intelligence, data economy and platform regulation. He is experienced in legally accompanying the development and launch of new web stores and apps. Further, he regularly assists clients with data protection matters in the context of data incidents. The focus of his advice is on clients in the automotive, healthcare as well as the industrials, manufacturing and transportation sector.

  • Advising with a wider team a company in the automotive sector in implementing the European Data Act.
  • Supporting a global online platform with data protection-related customer negotiations..
  • Advising as a team member a global consumer goods company with e-commerce and data protection law questions in the context of the launch and operation of a new webshop
  • Supporting with the reporting of an Asian automotive company’s data incident to authorities and informing data subjects in the EMEA region (38 jurisdictions).
  • Advising as a team member a company on the discussions with the board of the German data protection supervisory authorities (Datenschutzkonferenz) with regard to the data protection law compliance of processing activities.
  • Supporting with drafting an acceptable use policy concerning the use of AI systems for a manufacturing company.
  • Advising as a team member an automotive company on the launch of a lifestyle application by reviewing the user journey and drafting terms of use.
