Biography

Manuel Pimentel is an of counsel in Baker McKenzie's Madrid office. He is the current chairman of the Spanish Association of Consulting Companies. Mr. Pimentel has created and/or participated in Andalusian companies involved in engineering, technology and the environment. In the public administration sector, he has held several public office positions, including being a member of the Parliament for Andalusia, financial spokesman, secretary general and minister of labour and social affairs. He has been a columnist for specialised newspapers and magazines.

Practice Focus

Mr. Pimentel advises domestic and multinational companies on a broad range of labour and employment matters, with particular emphasis on collective agreement negotiations; collective dismissals, major reorganizations and negotiations with works councils, trade unions and public authorities and industrial disputes. He has recently been appointed as the mediator to resolve the labour dispute between the airline Iberia and its pilots.
