Joanna Lis
Biography
Joanna Lis is an advocate admitted to practice in Poland and an associate in the M&A department of the Warsaw office of Baker McKenzie.
Joanna graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz in 2012, Postgraduate Studies of Legal Services for Entrepreneurs in 2012 and attorney apprenticeship in 2016. In 2020 she was entered on the list of barristers by the District Bar Association in Poland.
Practice Focus
Joanna specializes in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and joint venture transactions, including those related to the renewable energy market. She is also experienced in advising insurers on W&I insurance, as well as in day-to-day legal maintenance of the companies.
Representative Legal Matters
Representative clients, cases or matters include:
- Providing a Polish leading fuel and energy company with the legal assistance in the joint venture transaction, concerning involvement of a strategic investor by taking over a minority stake in a Polish project company and joint development of a wind farm project in the Baltic Sea, as well as in the process of acquiring a minority stake in German project companies implementing a wind farm project in the North Sea.
- Assisting a leading European company in RES investments and other foreign investors in acquisition of stakes in project companies implementing wind farm projects in Poland.
- Providing legal services for a leading entrepreneur in the development industry (road construction).
