Biography

Macy is a senior associate in the Energy, Resources, Infrastructure and Corporate Practice Group in Baker McKenzie's Sydney office.

Macy advises clients on a broad range of transactions, including domestic and cross-border M&A, private sale and purchase, joint venture arrangements, corporate restructuring and general corporate advisory work, with a particular focus on renewable energy.

Macy has practiced in Australia and Asia, and has extensive experience acting for high-profile Australian and international clients on cross-border transactions.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised Shell on the joint development platform and investment in WestWind Energy portfolio, with access to 4GW of greenfield wind projects in Australia.
  • Advised Atmos Renewables on various joint development/partnership transactions in respect of wind, BESS and hybrid projects.
  • Advised Osaka Gas on its JDA with ACE Power over 500MW of solar and BESS projects in NSW and QLD.
  • Advised a developer on the joint venture development of a 1,200MW greenfield wind farm project with Iberdorla in QLD.
  • Advised WIRSON GmbH on the development, financing and sale of c. AUD 1 billion of solar and BESS portfolio to Petronas’ clean energy business Gentari.
  • Advised Maoneng Australia on its joint venture with Gaw Capital Partners on over 1.9GW of BESS and solar PV projects in Australia.
  • Advised Metis Energy Limited on the acquisition of a 111MW utility-scale solar farm development project in QLD.
  • Advised Providence Asset Group on ICG’s AUD 100 million investment in the solar portfolio.
  • Advised Providence Asset Group on its portfolio of solar farms in VIC and NSW.
  • Acted for Canadian institutional investor on its co-investment in an offshore wind farm project with expected capacity of 600MW in Taiwan.
