Dr. Jakob Jaritz
Biography
Dr. Jakob Jaritz is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Corporate/M&A, Capital Markets and ESG practice group in Vienna. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, he worked for the Austrian Financial Market Authority, where he focused on fraud prevention and fintech issues. Jakob gained in-depth knowledge of corporate and capital markets law as a research and teaching assistant at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, where he still teaches business law as an external lecturer. He frequently publishes articles in professional journals and books. He has also gained valuable international experience studying and working in Australia, Singapore, Spain and the United States.
Practice Focus
Jakob's practical focus is on all aspects of corporate law, private equity and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, corporate litigation, ESG and reorganizations. He advises domestic and international clients on M&A transactions, complex corporate restructurings, and joint ventures, as well as general corporate, compliance, commercial, and contract law matters.
