Biography

Nina is an associate in the EU Competition and Regulatory Affairs Practice Group in the Brussels office. She joined Baker McKenzie in October 2024.

Before joining Baker McKenzie, Nina worked in an American law firm in Brussels, where she assisted clients on sustainability-related matters and circular economy legislation. Before moving to Belgium, Nina was associated with a renowned Polish law firm, WardyƄski & Partners, where she advised on environmental and regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions. She also completed traineeship at the European Commission's Directorate General for the Environment.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised a sectoral, EU-level association from the plastic industry in navigating EU environmental and chemical legislation, with a specific focus on circular economy-related initiatives.
  • Appeared before the Court of Justice of the EU in a client's case concerning an action for annulment of the EU Commission's Regulation regarding the classification of a chemical substance under CLP as Specific Target Organ Toxicity - Repeated Exposure of Category 2.
  • Advised, as a member of environmental team, in the acquisition of 301 stores of Tesco Poland by Salling Group. The value of the enterprise was set at PLN 900 million (about DKK 1.5 billion).
  • Advised, as a member of environmental team, on the waste management aspects of the acquisition of Suez Polska by PreZero, a subsidiary of the Schwarz Group in transaction, which, under Polish, Dutch, German and Luxembourgish jurisdiction, was valued at EUR 1.1 billion.
  • Advised, as a member of environmental team, the Lutz Group in connection with a share acquisition, which resulted in the establishment of a 50/50 partnership with the Black Red White Group (a prominent furniture retailer and producer based in Poland).
