Biography
Mita Guritno has been specializing in banking and finance transactions for more than 25 years. She has wide and extensive experience in debt restructuring (acting both for borrowers and creditors), structured finance. She also has substantial experience in handling complex transactions, almost all of her deals have been cross-border transactions involving numerous law firms, covering various areas of law. She has been handling most of the high profile transactions and had been consistently ranked as leading lawyer in prestigious regional and global legal publications such as Chambers, IFLR1000, Asia Business Law Journal, Asia Pacific Legal500 and other.

Her transactions cover all aspects of financing including project finance, property financing, acquisition finance, trade finance and syariah banking (Islamic finance).
Representative Legal Matters
- Acting as the lead and Indonesian counsel of the lenders for the IDR 8 trillion financing the development of drinking water supply system in Jakarta that will be conducted by PT Air Bersih Jakarta, a company of Moya Asia group who acts as the borrower. This project is considered as one of the biggest drinking water project in Jakarta, or even in Indonesia, which aims to provide the city's residents with universal access to piped drinking water by 2030.
- Assisted PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) ("PLN") in successfully securing a USD 750 million (with green shoe option) syndicated loan with eight international and multinational banks acting as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners to support the company's green projects and programs implementation.
- Acting as the lead and Indonesian counsel of the lenders for financing to two Indonesian subsidiaries of ESR Group, namely: (i) PT ESR Indonesia Properties Two for the development of a warehouse property located in the China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (KITIC), and (ii) PT ESR Indonesia Properties Three for the development of a warehouse property located in the Surya Cipta Industrial Estate, Karawang.
- Representing BlackRock (and other noteholders) as the member of the ad-hoc committee in relation to the notes debt restructuring of the subsidiaries of PT Modernland Realty Tbk, and Indonesian company which engages in the real estate business.
- Acting as Indonesian counsel to the MOF in connection with the international issuance of USD3 billion of sovereign Sukuk by the Government of Indonesia. The Sukuk was sold through a special purpose vehicle, Perusahaan Penerbit SBSN Indonesia III as the issuer, and was under the existing sovereign USD15 billion trust certificate issuance program. This deal received Debt Market Deal of the Year from ALB Indonesian Law Awards, 2017 and ALB South East Asia Law Award Asia Islamic Finance Deal of the Year, 2018
- Acting as the counsel of the lender for financing to PT Bhaskara Alam and PT Graha Cipta Pesona Indah, each being group companies of MMS Group Indonesia (a group of companies focusing on energy generation and mining). The financing was provided for the preparations of development of a nickel smelter in the Kariangau Industrial in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan (whereby the borrowers are acting as sponsors). The loan to the borrowers are on-lend to PT Mitra Murni Perkasa, a subsidiary of the borrowers which will also own the nickel smelter property. • Representing a syndicate group of more than 30 banks in USD725,000,000 syndicated financing to the Indonesia Eximbank.
- Advised PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN), the national power company of Indonesia in the USD 500 million first ever "green" financing facility with a guarantee from the World Bank's Multilateral Investment Agency (MIGA).
- Assisting one of the Indonesian state owned entities in connection with the proposed establishment of Indonesia Battery Holding (and the related business) amongst State Owned Enterprises
- Representing PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, and PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII (collectively the “PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia”) in connection with the establishment of joint venture company with China Railway International Co. Ltd, subsidiary of China Railway Group Ltd, namely PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (“KCIC”). Then representing KCIC in the development of Indonesia’s first high-speed train project connecting Jakarta – Bandung. This deal received Deal of the Year and Project Finance Deal of the Year awards from Asian Legal Business Indonesia Law Awards 2018, and Impact Deal of the Year: Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail Line PPP, Asialaw Regional Awards 2019.
