Biography

Sara Espinosa Pérez holds dual degrees in Law and International Trade, enabling her to navigate and resolve intricate international trade and customs legal issues. Since joining the Firm in 2015, Sara has played a pivotal role in implementing sophisticated maquila structures, defending against SAT tax assessments from customs audits, and reinstating VAT certifications, among other achievements.

Sara focuses her practice on foreign trade and customs matters, including the implementation of IMMEX Program for companies under the industrial and services sectors, international trade contracts, PROSEC Program implementation for companies under controlled modality, VAT certification compliance and implementation, bond guarantees to secure VAT upon imports, complex customs audits by Mexican tax authorities, rules of origin, issuance of expert opinions on foreign trade matters in litigation procedures, self-correction procedures before the Taxpayer Defense Attorney's Office, and registry and reactivation in the Importers' Registry and Importers' Registry of Specific Sectors.

Practice Focus

Sara focuses on customs and foreign trade matters, with expertise in securing and implementing Export Promotion Programs for the banking, back office, and health industries. She has successfully secured VAT re-certifications in the logistics industry and implemented Bond Guarantee licenses for companies in the construction, automotive parts, and health sectors, among others. Additionally, Sara has played a key role in lifting the suspension of VAT certifications for companies across various industries, with a particular focus on the railway sector.
