Biography
Joshua is a senior associate in the Banking and Finance Group in Sydney.
Practice Focus
Joshua advises banks and other financiers (including funds and state agencies), as well as private equity sponsors and borrower groups. Joshua's practice focuses on leveraged and acquisition finance as well as general corporate finance, both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Joshua worked for a top-tier Australian law firm as well as one of the Big Four accounting firms.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advising the lead arrangers of a Term Loan B acquisition financing for EQT Infrastructure’s acquisition of Icon Group, a leading cancer care provider. This transaction was the Australasian Law Awards Debt Market Deal of the Year in 2023.
- Advising club lenders to the owner and operator of Australia's largest export coal rail network in respect of their financing arrangements.
- Advising the Australian subsidiary of a leading Canadian pension fund in respect of financing associated with their Australian agribusiness investments.
- Advising Platinum Equity, as Australian counsel, on financing arrangements for a number of their portfolio entities.
- Advising a leading Asian real estate investment trust on their bilateral bridge facility to fund acquisition of Australian property.
- Advising investors on the structuring of, and investment into, litigation funding facilities.
- Advising Lighter Capital on their warehouse facility funding with private investors and a state government investment agency.
- Advising a specialist lender in respect of loans made against government refunds and incentives.
- Advising syndicate lenders in respect of providing acquisition financing to Infratil and Morrison & Co for the purchase of Qscan, a group specialising in medical imaging and radiology.*
- Advising syndicate lenders in respect of providing acquisition financing to Crescent Capital for the purchase of PRP Diagnostic Imaging.*
