Biography

Juliana Dantas is a corporate tax partner in Baker McKenzie Amsterdam and head of the Latin America Desk. She is qualified in Dutch and Brazilian tax law and has extensive experience in international tax, with a particular focus on Latin America. Juliana teaches at the master of laws program in Leiden and speaks at several international seminars.

Practice Focus

Juliana provides strategic direct tax and legal advice for multinational companies, funds and family offices in numerous industries, assisting them in monitoring and expanding their activities worldwide. She focuses mainly on international tax planning, group restructuring, M&A, investment and financial structures, fund structuring, treaty interpretation and transfer pricing.

  • Advised on the establishment of joint venture among Brazilian, British and Portuguese oil companies for the exploration of oil fields in Brazil.

  • Advised on the establishment of joint venture among Brazilian, British and Spanish oil companies for the exploration of oil fields in Brazil.

  • Advised on the establishment and expansion of global agricultural fund in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay on behalf of Dutch bank and institutional investors.

  • Advised on the establishment of Dutch investment fund for investments in the Brazilian stock exchange on behalf of Dutch institutional investors.

  • Advised on the establishment and expansion of Dutch fund for acquisition of private equity investments in Brazil and Argentina, on behalf of Argentinean family office and institutional investors.

  • Advised on the establishment and expansion of Dutch fund for acquisition of private equity investments in Spain, on behalf of US fund manager and institutional investors.

  • Advised and provided worldwide tax structuring for Brazilian and other multinational companies in relation to the creation of their main international holding company.
