Biography
Juanjo Corral is a Partner in the Corporate and M&A Department in Madrid, specializing in advising Private Equity houses, and is also a member of the Firm's Global Consumer, Goods & Retail, and Energy, Mining & Infrastructure Industry groups.
Practice Focus
Juanjo advises Spanish and foreign companies on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate and commercial matters to Spanish and foreign companies. In particular, he provides corporate law advice and serves as secretary on various board of directors. He has participated in significant M&A transactions in the energy and power, hotels, industry, commercial distribution, technology and food sectors. In the area of private equity, he advises companies, funds, and private equity management companies on investments and disinvestments in companies operating in various sectors, among other matters.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advised Iberdrola on its alliance with Norway's sovereign wealth fund, managed by Norges Bank Investment Management, to double their clean energy investment alliance, adding 1,300 MW of additional renewable energy capacity to unlock more than EUR 2 billion joint investment over the next three years.
- Advised the private equity fund SUMA CAPITAL on the acquisition of 80% of the shares of a holding company owning four biomethane plants in development status in the Canary Islands in Spain.
- Advised Enagás and Fluxys on the acquisition of Axpo's current 5% stake in Trans Adraitic Pipeline (TAP).
- Advised Terp Spanish HoldCo a company wholly owned by Saeta Yield on the acquisition of a 50% stake in Parque Eólico Artaquitón, which represents a joint venture set by Saeta and AMP Energy to jointly develop hybrid renewable assets with a potential joint production capacity of 173 MW.
- Advised Iberdrola on the acquisition of an additional 31% in Energías Renovables Ibermap, the vehicle created with Mapfre so that it now controls 51% of the company.
- Advised Logista on the acquisition of Belgium Parcels Service (BPS), a company specialized in the express distribution of pharmaceutical parcels in Belgium and Luxembourg.
- Advised Autransa on the sale of 100% of its share capital held by Inversiones Eneas, Doncella La Vie and Anakena Enterprise to ESP Solutions Holdings.
- Advised Allegion Public Limited Company on the acquisition through one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Cisa Cerraduras of the 100% of the shares of the Spanish company Montajes Electronicos Dorcas.
- Advised Grupo Corporativo Landon on the sale of Monbake to CVC Capital Partners.
- Advised isEazy on the sale of 70% to ProA Capital.
- Advised the Catalan yacht manufacturer, De Antonio Yachts on the acquisition of a stake by Quarza Inversionres (Cristian Abelló’s private equity firm).
