Emily Chan is an associate in the Intellectual Property Technology Practice Group in Baker McKenzie's Palo Alto office.
Emily leverages over six years of legal practice experience in technology transactions and corporate law to advise clients on complex issues related to intellectual property, licensing, and commercial transactions.
Practice Focus
Emily has significant experience drafting and negotiating bespoke agreements in novel, technology-driven fields, and advising clients on strategic licensing of intellectual property. Emily’s practice includes drafting agreements for commercial licensing of software and hardware components, software service agreements, production agreements for media companies, influencer agreements, and consumer-facing terms of service.
Additionally, Emily is a seasoned advisor regarding the management of intellectual property assets in corporate M&A deals, including asset carveouts and cross-border transactions. She regularly leads deal teams in conducting intellectual property-related diligence and provides strategic legal advice regarding securing of intellectual property in connection with corporate transactions.
