Baker McKenzie advised OnlineDoctor AG ("OnlineDoctor"), a leading teledermatology company in Germany and Switzerland, and its shareholders on the acquisition of OnlineDoctor by Lohmann & Rauscher ("L&R"), a global provider of medical devices and services.
The acquisition strengthens L&R's position as a comprehensive healthcare solutions provider by expanding its digital services. OnlineDoctor will continue to operate under its current name as a subsidiary, with its founders remaining as managing directors and shareholders. Being part of the L&R group opens new and long-term opportunities for OnlineDoctor to drive forward innovations in the field of digital medical products.
The companies are in the post-merger integration phase, collaborating on new applications within L&R's business areas. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price of the acquisition.
OnlineDoctor, founded in Switzerland in 2016, is Europe's leading teledermatology provider. It partners with about 800 dermatologists and serves over 300 pharmacies and hospitals in Switzerland.
