Baker McKenzie is pleased to congratulate Partner Mark Hamer on his appointment as Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice. Mark is a highly regarded antitrust lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors.
 
Mark joined Baker McKenzie in 2016 and became Global Chair of the Firm's Antitrust & Competition Practice in 2020. In that role, he has led a team of more than 250 antitrust lawyers across 60 offices in 43 countries. The group handles a broad spectrum of complex competition law matters, including antitrust litigation, antitrust agency investigations, criminal and civil enforcement cases, and merger clearance matters. The team also regularly provides antitrust compliance guidance and training for clients.

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Mark served in the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division as a trial attorney handling some of the Antitrust Division’s highest-profile matters. During his prior service at DOJ, Mark received the US Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his contributions.
