Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce that London Dispute Resolution Senior Associate, Eleanor Wallis, has been recognised in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 2025.

Eleanor’s inclusion in the list is in recognition of her work acting as the lead associate in one of the longest-running SFO cases of all time. The case was featured in The Lawyer’s "Top 20 Cases" of 2023 and was nominated for "Most Important Court Case of the Year" at the GIR Awards. It resulted in a five-month jury trial, which ran between November 2023 and April 2024. Eleanor also acted for the same client in the original trial in 2022, in which the jury was discharged after three months.

Her client (Mr Jeffrey Cook) was charged with corruption and misconduct in public office relating to his time working for the UK Government and, subsequently, as Managing Director of GPT (a subsidiary of Airbus). The case team was successful in securing the acquittal of Mr Cook on the very serious corruption charge.

Eleanor is a member of the Firm's Investigations, Compliance & Ethics practice group and her practice includes a broad spectrum of compliance and investigations matters, as well as criminal defence, including conducting internal investigations on behalf of clients and external investigations engaging with regulators and enforcement agencies, with a focus on white collar crime. She is a member of the Female Fraud Forum and Women's White Collar Defence Association.
