Robin Samuel has been recognized by the Daily Journal in its 2024 Top Labor & Employment Lawyers list, which recognizes the California lawyers who have made the most significant contributions in labor and employment law through notable client matters and industry leadership.
Robin is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Labor and Employment practice, the only global employment practice with a Chambers Band 1 ranking. He leads the Firm's US Labor & Employment team, while also co-chairing the Firm’s Workforce Redesign service line and sitting on the North America Steering Committee for the Employment and Compensation practice.
Robin helps clients manage and resolve their most difficult and sensitive employment issues. He advises clients on virtually all aspects of the employment relationship, including hiring and firing, wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, contract disputes, restrictive covenants, employee raiding, and trade secret matters.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Robin became a "go to" employment source for navigating the novel challenges that the pandemic created, including rapid shutdowns, new safety rules, and reopening requirements. He led several client matters related to COVID-19 workplace vaccination and testing policies that helped establish the framework by which future cases in that area will be litigated; he received a Litigator of the Week 'Shout Out' from The American Lawyer Litigation Daily for his defense work on one of those precedent-setting COVID-19 vaccination cases.
In addition to his client work, Robin is a frequent author and speaker for organizations such as SHRM, ACC, the National Association of Corporate Directors, and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Outside of the office, Robin spends time with his family and supporting his community. He is actively involved with local bar groups and philanthropic organizations. And in his free time, you can find Robin surfing or playing golf or softball.
