Following her recent appointment as Baker McKenzie's California Managing Partner, Denise Glagau sat down with Law360 for an interview about her new role.

Denise comes to the role with previous leadership experience at the Firm, including as the California Compensation Practice Lead and Co-Chair of the California BakerWomen group. In the article, she shares that one of her goals is to build on the momentum of the recent growth of the Firm's offices in Los Angeles, Palo Alto and San Francisco. With the recent influx of new laterals, including 17 transactional lawyers in Los Angeles, Denise sees opportunities to expand client offerings in the region and to develop new synergies across practices. Growth will not, however, change the core values of the Firm. Denise notes, "we will continue to focus on innovative and tech-forward solutions for our clients who are seeking guidance on their most complex international deals, tax matters, and disputes."

Denise also shared how strong women leaders have shaped her career at Baker McKenzie and how she hopes to inspire the next generation of women lawyers. "I'm really passionate about being a good example and a leader for women in the law. What I hope to continue to do in this role is to inspire young women and other women lawyers," she commented.

While serving as California Managing Partner, Denise is committed to continuing her practice in the compensation space, something that she considers her real passion.
