Global law firm Baker McKenzie has announced two new leadership appointments in North America.
Michael Brewer has been appointed Chair of the Firm’s North America Employment & Compensation Practice. Mike most recently served as Managing Partner of the Firm’s California offices and he is also Chair of the Firm’s Global Employment & Compensation practice. A trial lawyer who represents global and domestic clients, Mike has tried class action and single plaintiff employment cases before judges, juries and arbitrators for more two decades. Super Lawyers has repeatedly recognized Michael for his superior defense of employment claims.
Mike succeeds Susan Eandi, who will continue her employment law practice and service as a member of the North America Regional Management Committee, responsible for setting the Firm’s strategy in North America.
Denise Glagau will serve as California Managing Partner, overseeing the Firm’s offices in San Francisco, Palo Alto and Los Angeles. She succeeds Mike Brewer. Denise’s practice focuses on advising multinational companies on complex tax and legal issues associated with offering employee share plans and other incentive compensation programs on a global basis. Denise is a ranked practitioner by Chambers USA in the area of Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation.
The Firm’s Los Angeles office will continue to be led locally by Perrie Weiner, who serves as Partner in Charge, focused on continuing to build the Firm’s rapidly growing presence in southern California.
“We are thrilled to announce Mike and Denise’s new appointments, which are a testament to their outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to our clients,” said Colin Murray, Baker McKenzie's North America Chief Executive Officer. “Both Denise and Mike are known for their inclusive, collaborative leadership styles, and I look forward to working together as we drive our Firm forward, helping our clients find solutions and thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing global business environment.”
The appointments took effect July 1, 2024.
