Global law firm Baker McKenzie and Estudio Echecopar, member firm of Baker & McKenzie International in Peru, took home seven awards at Euromoney's Women in Business Law Americas Awards 2024. The event was held June 13 in New York.
The Women in Business Law Americas Awards celebrate the pioneering accomplishments of preeminent women attorneys across the region. They also honor forward-thinking law firms and corporate legal teams that are advancing progressive policies and initiatives to bolster the presence and success of women in the legal field.
Baker McKenzie claimed the prestigious title of "Latin America International Firm of the Year," a testament to the Firm's commitment to excellence in legal services across the region, reflecting strategic growth, outstanding work, and dedication to client service. In addition, the Lima office, Estudio Echecopar, was recognized with three awards, "Peru Firm of the Year," "Career Development Firm of the Year" and "Gender Diversity Firm of the Year," in recognition of comprehensive programs supporting women's professional growth, as well as adaptable work arrangements and family-friendly initiatives to offer a harmonious work-life balance for all.
In addition to these accolades, the Firm celebrated individual recognitions as two of its lawyers, along with a lawyer from Estudio Echecopar, were distinguished as leading figures in their respective fields. "We are thrilled to implement ID&E policies and programs across the Americas, recognizing the important need for such measures in the workplace. As we pioneer these initiatives, we remain committed to setting a positive example and inspiring other companies to follow suit, fostering a more inclusive and equitable business environment," said Inés Baca, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Chair for Latin America.
Alison Stafford Powell – Trade Lawyer of the Year, Partner in the Firm's Palo Alto office.
Jennifer Trock – Aviation Lawyer of the Year, Partner in the Firm's Washington D.C. office.
