Baker McKenzie Partner, Cynthia J Cole, has been named to Daily Journal's 2024 Top Intellectual Property Lawyers list. Selected from hundreds of nominations for California lawyers, this prestigious list recognizes the top intellectual property lawyers in California based on the impact that they have had on the field.

Cynthia is an accomplished intellectual property and technology transactions attorney, with extensive experience leading transactions across novel technology fields, including AI. She is sought after by companies at the forefront of technology innovation for her ability to distill complex information and provide counseling on key legal developments that affect their businesses.

Cynthia regularly leads the IP aspects of major international transactions, managing among other things, product and technology diligence (including GenAI), global development and ownership of IP, licensing and value-exploitation, data collection, data training set and data privacy and security issues, all the way through post-close matters associated with integration of sensitive and valuable IP, data and AI assets. A few of her most notable projects this past year include, Haier Smart Home's USD 640 million “Share Purchase Agreement” with Carrier Global Corporation and Carolin Holdings B.V., ServiceNow, Inc.'s acquisition of G2K Group GmbH and Snowflake's acquisition of Mobilize.Net’s SnowConvert.

In addition to her client work, Cynthia is dedicated to being a mentor to the next generation of women in the legal industry. She leads internal Associate training programs, is an adjunct professor of law at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, is an alum of DirectWomen's Board Institute, a non-profit advocating for increased representation of women lawyers on corporate boards, supports ChIPs, a non-profit professional organization that advances and connects women in technology, law and policy, and was previously a member of the Women’s General Counsel Network. Additionally, she is a Law Foundation pro bono attorney, an advisory board member of LeaderXXchange and a major supporter of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley.
