Baker McKenzie Dispute Resolution Partner, Anna Hwang, was featured in a recent video interview with the Asian Business Review, where she shared that arbitration, due to its speed and cost-effectiveness, is emerging as a preferred method for resolving the increasing number of cross-border disputes resulting from supply chain disruptions and trade wars.

Anna noted that the global economic shifts, regulatory scrutiny and inflationary pressures are contributing to shorter lifespans of commercial agreements, thus precipitating disputes more quickly. She pointed out that Taiwanese companies, which are historically passive in adopting international arbitration clauses, are now becoming more proactive in accepting the international arbitration clause in agreements. She goes on to highlight how Baker McKenzie, with its global footprint and strong international arbitration practice, is able to play a crucial role in connecting Taiwanese businesses with global arbitration institutions.
