Baker McKenzie Partner Jodi Avila has been named an "On the Rise" Honoree by the Daily Business Review/Law.com in its 2024 Florida Legal Awards. The recognition is given to a select group of South Florida's most promising lawyers under the age of 40, who have developed unique practices, handled significant client work and who have demonstrated strong leadership qualities and commitment to pro bono and charitable efforts.

Jodi is a seasoned litigator with a track record of successes in the courtroom, and also at the appellate level. She regularly represents multinational companies and individuals in high-stakes disputes in both state and federal courts.

Also notable is Jodi's dedication to the South Florida community, where she has been a fierce advocate in several pro bono matters. She recently spearheaded several landmark pro bono cases, including the representation of the NAACP in a pending desegregation order against a South Florida school district and she successfully argued on appeal for a Florida pre-trial detainee, whose constitutional rights were violated when his legal mail was scanned into the jail's computer system.
