HHP advises PT Indosat Tbk on its acquisition of MNC Play for IDR 876 billion

HHP Law Firm ("HHP") advised PT Indosat Tbk ("Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison" or "Indosat" or IOH") on the acquisition of PT MNC Kabel Mediacom (“MNC Play”)’s customers for a consideration of IDR 876 billion (subject to adjustments). 

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison is one of the leading digital telecommunication companies with the purpose of empowering Indonesia. This strategic transaction is aiming to expand and accelerate the enhancement of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison's Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) business, under the Indosat HiFi brand. Upon the completion of the acquisition, Indosat HiFi expanded its range of offerings from home broadband services to the IPTV service that MNC Play provides.

The HHP team was led by Partner Iqbal Darmawan. Iqbal was supported by Associate Partners Adhika Wiyoso and Denny Irawan and Associates Bratara Damanik, Naztasha Cesty and Bryan Sonny Wisakono. In January 2022, HHP acted as Indonesia counsel to CK Hutchinson Holdings and PT Hutchison 3 Indonesia for their landmark USD 6 billion (est.) merger with PT Indosat Tbk to form Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison.
