Chambers Asia Pacific has released its 2024 guide, ranking Baker McKenzie and its member firms collectively in 151 practice areas and in 234 lawyer categories, of which 91 practice areas and 92 lawyers received top Bands 1 and 2. The Firm has more practice areas and lawyers ranked as well as Bands 1 & 2 rankings than any other law firm in the region, which attests to our position as “First in Asia Pacific”.
The Firm improved its performance this year compared to last, with five new practice area rankings, including in the inaugural category of Asia-Pacific Region Data Protection, as well as in Banking & Finance: Acquisition Finance (Australia); Restructuring & Finance (Indonesia); Construction (Malaysia); and Technology, Media and Telecoms.
The Firm also maintained seven Band 1 rankings in seven Asia Pacific-wide categories, including in Banking & Finance; Intellectual Property; Investment Funds: Private Equity; Investment Funds: Registered Funds; Islamic Finance; Life Sciences; and Technology, Media & Telecoms.
The Firm’s ranked lawyers increased to 234 this year from 223 in 2023, including 28 promotions across the region.

Practices and individuals with Band 1 ranking are recognized by the guide for achieving the highest "technical legal ability, client service, commercial vision and business understanding, diligence, value for money, depth of team, and other qualities most valued by the client."
