Description

The Senior Manager - Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (ID&E) will work closely with the global ID&E team to implement the Firm's ID&E strategic planning and goals, reporting to the Director, ID&E – North America. The role-holder will provide leadership and management support and be responsible for planning, managing, developing and implementing internal, external, and client-related ID&E programs, initiatives and metrics; and advancing the Firm's ID&E mission and goals.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Contribute thought leadership to the development and implementation of innovative methods and ideas to advance and implement ID&E initiatives throughout the Firm, including advancing client-facing programming and initiatives 
  • Work in partnership with the Global Chief ID&E Officer, NA Director and global ID&E team to design and implement external ID&E organizational structures (to include metrics, toolkits, templates, databases, technology solutions, etc.) and to integrate ID&E into the firm's client-related efforts
  • Help translate global and regional strategy into action through process documentation and sustainable best practices
  • Collaborate and liaise with other business professional teams in supporting talent management, retention, and promotion efforts
  • Develop and manage internal global programming and initiatives working with the ID&E team members across the regions; lead the implementation and management of those initiatives 
  • Manage, implement, and deliver ID&E education programming, workshops, seminars, and retreats
  • Manage external and client-related sponsorship/mentorship programs and continue to support the retention and promotion of our attorneys and business professionals through these programs
  • Manage and coordinate financial sponsorships, attendance, and physical presence at bar association conferences for attorneys
  • Lead large and small scale ID&E events
  • Compile, analyze and maintain client and external ID&E related data and metrics; own and maintain ID&E dashboards to assess efficiency and effectiveness of ID&E initiatives and strategies
  • Conduct internal and external research, to include research related to racial/cultural, gender, disability, and LGBTQ+ issues
  • Collaborate with the firm's business professional departments, to include recruiting, business development, marketing, communications, talent management, human resources, leadership and learning, and finance teams
  • Build relationships with lawyers and business professionals at the firm, internal ID&E leaders, ID&E professionals at peer firms, leaders of diversity organizations and bar associations
  • Monitor external ID&E best practices, attend ID&E conferences, and facilitate relationships between individuals at the firm and leading ID&E organizations; speak at ID&E conferences and panels as requested
  • Supervise other team members as required
  • Perform such other duties as assigned or requested

Skills and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctorate or Master's degree preferred
  • Strong ID&E experience, preferably in a professional services company or law firm
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general databases
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management and strategic planning
  • Strong organization skills, including setting priorities, structuring project deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus
  • Able to perform data analysis
  • Experience in marketing and event planning a plus
  • A high level of discretion, diplomacy and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality

This position is bonus-eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on number of hours worked.  The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $165,000 to $190,000 (annually). Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
