The Kyiv office of Baker McKenzie announces the promotion of counsel Oleksiy Stolyarenko and Andrii Moskalyk to partners, effective 1 July 2023. These appointments further bolster Kyiv's already-strong client service capabilities in the IP & Technology, and M&A, Energy, Mining and Infrastructure practice areas, respectively.

Oleksiy Stolyarenko is an IP and technology lawyer in the Kyiv office focusing on complex intellectual property, information technology, data privacy, e-commerce, media and advertising matters. Oleksiy is well versed in issues related to technology transactions, start-ups, and innovative services and products. He represents clients before the courts of Ukraine in trademark and patent litigation matters and carries out anti-piracy/anti-counterfeiting campaigns. As a Co-Chair of the IPR Committee of American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, Oleksiy actively promotes the efficient and transparent development of the IP ecosystem in Ukraine.

Andrii Moskalyk is an M&A partner at the Kyiv office, with a particular focus on oil and gas, energy, mining and infrastructure (EMI) transactions. He also advises on complex cross-border M&A deals in IT, financial service, transportation and agriculture sectors. With more than 15 years of experience, Andrii has led a number of milestone production sharing projects between Ukrainian investors, foreign multinational companies and Ukrainian government and is regarded as the expert in this area.

With the new appointments, today, Baker McKenzie's Kyiv office has more than 50 lawyers, including ten partners, six counsel and 15 senior associates.
 
These promotions are part of the 89 homegrown partner global promotions across 41 locations worldwide. With the addition of 42 new lateral partners joining the Firm in the year to 30 June 2023, the Firm has added 131 partners globally, an increase of 12% from the previous year.
