Biography

Lewis leads our Australian Funds Transaction Group. He is also a member of Baker McKenzie's Global Funds Steering Committee and the Australian Management Committee.

Practice Focus

Lewis is a corporate and securities partner and assists clients undertake domestic and cross-border capital markets and M&A transactions. He is the Head of the Funds Transaction Group and has a particular focus on the alternative private investment fund and REIT sectors, working closely with the Firm's private equity, real estate and energy and infrastructure groups on private fund formation, complex M&A transactions, privatisations, take private transactions and structured investment transactions in those sectors.

Lewis also advises investors in such funds and other investment arrangements, including pension and sovereign wealth funds. He also regularly advises clients on Foreign Investment Review Board matters.

Lewis also has extensive experience in advising clients on a range of matters relating to the funds management and financial services industries, including product development, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. He is referred to as a leading lawyer in Investment Funds in Chambers Asia Pacific Guide, 2012 - 2024.
